Notifications

Notifications let you reach people who already carry your pass. Holders see the message where the pass lives:

• Apple Wallet shows a lock-screen banner and keeps the message on the back of the pass.
• Google Wallet sends a push notification and keeps the message with the pass in the app.

Only issued passes can receive notifications, and holders don’t need to do anything: delivery happens through the wallet platforms automatically.

Send to one pass

Open the pass and switch to its Notifications tab, then choose Send notification. Write the message and pick the target platforms (both by default). For Google Wallet you can add an optional title shown above the message; Apple Wallet notifications have no title.

Send to several passes

Select passes on the Passes list and choose Notify in the action bar. Every selected pass receives the same message, and each records its own delivery result.

Broadcasts

A broadcast sends one message to every issued pass in a project, whether that’s ten passes or ten thousand. Use it for news that concerns everyone in a campaign: a venue change, a rescheduled date, a last-minute offer. From the project page choose New broadcast, write the message, and send or schedule it. The Broadcasts card on the project page lists every broadcast with its status:

• Scheduled: waiting for its send time, and can still be cancelled.
• Sending: Passlet is handing the message to each pass.
• Sent to N passes: done. Every pass that was issued at send time got its own copy.

Each recipient pass shows that copy, with per-platform delivery results, on its own Notifications tab, marked with a broadcast badge. Passes issued after a broadcast was sent do not receive it.

Schedule and cancel

Turn on Schedule for later in the send dialog to deliver at a chosen time. Scheduled notifications and broadcasts sit at the top of their timeline and can be cancelled there until they start sending. Once delivery has started, a message cannot be recalled; send a follow-up instead.

Track delivery

The timeline shows one entry per notification with its overall status:

• Scheduled: not yet due.
• Sending: delivery in progress.
• Sent: delivered on every targeted platform.
• Partly sent: one platform delivered, the other failed (the error is shown on the entry).
• Failed: no targeted platform could be delivered.
• Skipped: the pass doesn’t exist on any targeted platform.
